The Flamingo Dress

The Flamingo Dress

Remember Audrey’s Going Home Dress that I sewed for her to wear home from the hospital?  The pattern was so cute I had to make more! I had TONS of this green pin-stripe “fabric” with flamingos.  Actually, it’s a Tommy Hilfiger sheet that I got at the thrift store!  But isn’t it cute??? You would never know…. For the 0-3 month size dress I used the Itty Bitty Baby Dress pattern from Made by Rae and it fit a 3-month old Audrey perfectly! (She’s already 5 1/2 months now….time flies!)

I was so excited to see that there was also a larger pattern in a 3T size. I must make one for Sophie next summer! The piping and bias tape border adds a nice contrast.

And love the sweet little ties at the shoulders.

I used the Perfect Diaper Cover pattern from Made Everyday to make a matching diaper cover. This is my go-to pattern for diaper covers because I like to sew all my dresses with coordinating accessories.

On a different note, I thought life would calm down a bit after Halloween but it’s been as crazy as ever around here. I’ve been swamped at work, Audrey’s been sick with a respiratory infection, and Robbie’s been away for most of the week volunteering at the Coastal Carolina fair which is sponsored by The Exchange Club he belongs to.  Needless to say, I’ve barely had a spare minute this week! All of this has kept me from wrapping up the last few cosmetic items on the new blog layout. I plan to have a project gallery soon, a new header, and a couple other finishing touches but all in due time….

Audrey finished her round of antibiotics today and has been taking breaking treatments with a baby nebulizer but is still congested so we’re heading back to the doctor in the morning.  I hope my sweet girl gets a good night’s sleep tonight.
