St. Patrick’s Day Burlap Wreath

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here and today I’m sharing my easy-to-make St. Patrick’s Day wreath made from burlap ribbon. This festive wreath will be the perfect addition to your St. Patty’s Day decor! Here’s how you can make your own St. Patrick’s Day wreath!

What do you need to make a St. Patrick’s Day wreath?

• Wire wreath form (mine is 18″)
• 3″ wide burlap ribbon (I used 2 rolls)
• Floral wire
• Decorative shamrock for the center
• Wooden initial
• Gold spray paint

How to make a burlap wreath

1. Use floral wire to secure the end of the burlap ribbon to the inside edge of the wreath form.

2. Push the burlap into the section of the wreath form closest to the center to make a loop that’s approximately 4″ high.

3. Make two more loops in the middle and outside sections of the wreath form. You can make all the loops the same size or vary the sizes for a more asymmetrical look.

4. Start your next row of loops in the section of the wreath form closest to the middle. All the loops will be made from the inside to the outside sections of the wreath form.

5. Continue making loops until the wire form is completely covered.

6. When finished, twist some of the loops in different directions so it will look less “uniform.”

7. Trim off any excess burlap and secure the end to the wreath form with a piece of floral wire.

I finished my St. Patrick’s Day wreath with a moss covered shamrock and wooden initial that I got at Hobby Lobby. I spray painted the initial gold to make it more festive, and hung the cutest burlap shamrock garland over the wreath. I would recommend securing the shamrock and initial to the wreath with floral wire. Then you can easily remove them and replace with other seasonal decor so you can use this wreath throughout the year!
