Valentine’s Day Treat Bag
Can you believe this Valentine’s Day treat bag is made from paper plates? Quite awhile ago we were doing another paper plate craft and realized that two folded ones make a heart shape. I planted that idea in the back of my head for a future Valentine’s Day craft. This year, Sophie was given the task of making a bag to bring to preschool to collect Valentine’s in….and the paper plate Valentine’s Day treat bag was perfect!
Valentine’s Day Craft Supplies
- 2 paper plates
- paint
- glue
- foam brush
- stickers, sequins, glitter for decorating
- ribbon for hanging
- hole punch
How to Make a Valentine’s Day Treat Bag from Paper Plates
Fold 2 paper plates in half, and insert one inside the other with the open sides facing. Glue, staple or tape them together securely. Then let your child paint them. Sophie chose two shades of pink.
While the paint is still wet you can sprinkle glitter or sequins on to decorate the bag. Or wait until it dries and let your child put stickers on it. We did both.
Use a hole punch to make a hole on either side and string a ribbon through for hanging. The opening is just big enough for cards and small treats! If you’re expecting a lot of treats, put a knot on either end of the ribbon so it won’t slip back out when the bag gets weighed down.
Sophie’s Valentine’s Day treat bag was a hit at her preschool!
