Pink Ruffle Party
We celebrated Audrey’s first birthday with a girly pink ruffle party on May 24th! Everything was decorated with ruffles from the cake right down to Audrey’s outfit! She wore a hot pink lace ruffled romper with a big satin bow, and looked absolutely adorable if I do say so myself! Here’s the birthday girl ready to party!
Pink Ruffle Cake
My friend Amber, who was also Audrey’s first caregiver at daycare, made the cake. She made a “smash” ruffle cake for Audrey to tear up and a larger matching ruffle cake for the guests.
Audrey needed a little help from big sister to blow out her candle.
With this being Audrey’s first experience with desserts, she wasn’t quite sure what to do with it when the cake was put in front of her. She picked at the icing for a bit, rubbed it between her fingers thoughtfully, and finally had a taste!
Eventually we moved things along by cutting her a big slice and letting her enjoy several bites! It was a vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filing in between the layers. YUM!!!
We served light refreshments, including fruit with a creamy dip, brown sugar-pecan brie, and brown sugar brownies.
A beautiful flower arrangement was the focal point of the table. Robbie did the flowers himself using a combination of flowers and greenery from the florist, as well as from our yard. He has a special talent in this area don’t you think?
I decorated with ruffled streamers and tissue paper pom-poms, in a light pink, dark pink and white color scheme.
My favorite party decoration was a French memo board I made myself to display pictures of Audrey that were taken during each month of her first year. I purchased the onesie stickers used in these photos on Etsy. Check out the tutorials for the the party decorations below:

Audrey received many nice gifts, including toys and clothes, but the star of the show was a little pink and purple speedster with her name on the side. It also has a license plate with her initials and birthdate. How cute is this???
It even has a license plate with her initials and birthdate!
Audrey weighted in at her one year old checkup at 18 lb. 11 oz. and 30″ long. That’s my big girl!
