Crocheted Cupcake Pincushions
I saw some crocheted cupcake pincushions on Etsy awhile back and have been wanting to make one ever since. After searching high and low for a good pattern, I finally decided on this crocheted cupcake pattern.
I sewed a small bag from fabric scraps, filled it with rice and placed it in the bottom of the cupcake, which gives it a sturdy base.
Then I just tied the little bags together with yarn to secure.
I stuffed the tops with polyfil and hand stitched them to the bottom of the cupcake with yarn.
I thought they turned out really cute so I made several – two for myself and one for my mother in law. When I’m sewing, it always seems that the pincushion is where I’m not! If I’m at the ironing board, the pincushion is on the sewing table and vice versa. Now I have one to keep handy at all locations!
The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft in Orchid and Soft Pink and Red Heart in Cafe Latte for the bottoms.
