Cloud 9 Vintage PJs
I made Sophie and Audrey adorable new nightgowns using the Cloud 9 Vintage PJs pattern from Peek A Boo Pattern Shop. I love the way they turned out!

Every Thursday Peek a Boo Pattern Shop puts one of their patterns on sale. I bought the Cloud 9 Vintage Nightgown pattern recently when it was discounted because I liked the fact that it had two variations. You can make a nightgown or you can make a top and bloomers set. I knew the nightgown would be perfect for Sophie because she’s going through a phase where she only wears dresses, (Have you ever seen someone go through the entire summer without wearing shorts?) and the top / bloomers set would be the right choice for Audrey because she needs a diaper deterrent! If her diaper’s not covered she’s going to take it off, so she needs something that covers up her britches at bedtime. 😉
The Cloud 9 Vintage PJs features a flat front bodice, gathered skirt and elasticized back for a perfect fit. The stretchy back is my favorite part. So comfy and easy on and off!
I made an 18 month size for Audrey and a 3T for Sophie, and the sizing was perfect. The pattern includes options for basic straps or elasticized straps. I sewed it with the basic straps. The cute polka dot fabric is from Hobby Lobby.
The only part of the pattern I struggled with was top stitching the bottom of the bodice while catching the bodice lining on the inside at the same time. Attempting this with knit that curled up on the edges was not an easy task. No matter how hard I tried I simply could not completely and neatly catch the lining. It was an embarrassing mess! Most people wouldn’t care since you can’t see the lining anyway but my OCD self was losing sleep over it. So I consulted with my mother-in-law who suggested that I hand stitch the lining down after sewing the topstitch on the front. That was the perfect solution to ensure the lining is fully and neatly stitched down!
My girls loved their new nightgowns. I’ll make them 10 more if I keep getting smiles like this!
I also grabbed the Sweetheart Halter pattern too when it was on sale recently. I can’t wait to make that one soon!
